Ilze Murāne, IS Security Manager, Bank of Latvia

Since August 2001 Ilze Murāne has beenworking as Information Systems Security Manager at the Bank of Latvia. The main responsibilities include: information security management, as well as oversight of personal data protection process. 1998-2001 she has worked as IS auditor and IS audit manager at the same bank. Since 2003, Ilze has given lectures on IS security at the University of Latvia. In 1993, Ilze Murāne graduated from the University of Latvia obtaining degree in Applied Mathematics, in 1995 – MSc degree in Computer Science. Currently Ilze continues with doctoral studies in information security. Since 2000 she is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). She has worked as senior editor of journal “DatorPasaule” and project manager at DT Media Group (1997-1998), information security expert at Lattelekom IS (1995-1997) and Internet consultant at LU Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (1994-1995). Among other experiences there are three books about Internet and lot ofarticles about Internet as well as IS security and conduction of seminars about IS security and risk management. Ilze advises Advisory Council of Electronic Communications and Information Technology Security.
