The Secretariat of Special Assignments Minister for Electronic Government Affairs of Latvia was established in 2005. Its goal is a democratic and effective state administration directed towards the needs of a citizen, being capable of ensuring the competitiveness and welfare of the state of Latvia and its citizens in the information era.
The Secretariat will have accomplished its task, when:
• we implement a better administration by improving the quality of public services;
• we establish a cheaper state administration by improving its efficiency and reducing the costs;
• we establish a democratic administration by promoting the inclusion of society in the work of state administration.

ISACA Latvia chapter

The Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) was established in 1967, and today it has more than 65,000 members who are professionals in the area of information technology management, security and auditing. They come from more than 140 countries. The ISACA issues CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) and CGEIT (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT) certificates. The Latvian chapter of ISACA has 97 members who are professionals in the areas of IT and information security. It has been working in Latvia for more than 10 years.
