Secretariat of Special Assignments Minister for Electronic Government Affairs of Latvia
The Secretariat of Special Assignments Minister for Electronic Government Affairs is working since January 2005.
Main functions of the Secretariat are: to organize and coordinate development and implementation of the state policy in the fields of electronic government, information society and information technologies, to facilitate and coordinate development of state and municipal electronic services, to coordinate development and integration of state information systems, development of electronic procurement system, introduction of electronic signature.

Ministry of Welfare of Latvia
The Ministry of Welfare is a state administration institution that creates and coordinates the social policy of the State.
The purpose of ministry is to develop a democratic, stable, responsible, and viable social security system that would enable the possibility to protect the social and economical rights of every person. In order to achieve it, the ministry solves the following issues using political, economical, and legal means:
- Issues of social insurance, social care, and social assistance;
- Problems related to labor and labor protection, employment, and unemployment;
- Issues related to ensuring and implementation of principles of gender equality.

Ministry of Transport of Latvia
The Ministry of Transport is the main state governance institution in transport and communications. Ministry elaborates the policy papers and regulatory framework for these sectors.
The priorities of the Ministry of Transport:
- A efficient use of the EU funds for the development of the transport and communications infrastructure;
- A raise of traffic safety level upon making changes in the legal acts;
- In the field of passenger transport - formation of a modern public transport infrastructure throughout the whole country;
- In the maritime field, further implementation of international acts and requirements so as to improve the vessel safety, decrease a risk of the environment pollution from ships on the Baltic Sea.

Ministry of Health of Latvia
The Ministry of Health of Latvia is the leading public administration body in the health sector. The health sector comprises the public health, healthcare, pharmacy and legal drugs circulation sub-sectors.
Main goals in the field of healthcare is to ensure the good health of the community, satisfy the community demand for healthcare services, ensure accessibility and quality of the services as well as fairness of contributions and financial protection against expenses in case of illness.

Verva - Swedish Administrative Development agency
Verva is responsible for coordinating the development of central government in Sweden and is one of the Government's central advisory agencies.
Verva's area of responsibility
- Verva shall be an expert in the field of public administration development by monitoring research and analysing developments in Sweden and abroad.
- Verva shall promote and support public administration development, for example by developing models, methods and guidelines for the development of government and overall controls, and by working with strategic IT issues. Verva is also responsible for the portals: sverige.se and lagrummet.se
- Verva shall coordinate the procurement and use of IT products and services for the entire public sector
- Verva shall provide general training programmes for entire central government administration, for example in the fields of leadership, public administrations studies end ethics. Verva shall also produce tailor-made training programmes for government agencies and identify needs of strategic human resource management in the government administration.
- Verva shall work to improve harmonization in central government, between central and local government, and between central government and the private sector.
The year 2006 is Verva's first year of operations. During the year Verva will develop an integrated bank of knowledge in the fields it works with, give priority to supportive programmes that have the aim of developing electronic public administration, and develop its training activities.
