About Forum: The International Forum “Baltic IT&T” has long traditions. It is one of the largest and most significant ICT events in the Baltic Sea Region, bringing together senior government representatives, experts from European Commission and international organisations, as well as top level executives from the world’s leading ICT companies and other business sectors. The motto of the forum is “Partnerships for Innovation and Competitiveness”. The major objective is to establish and promote effective partnerships among the public and the private sectors, associations and other IT&T industry related organisations in the Baltic Sea region to promote innovation and competitiveness.

The 13th International Conference "Baltic IT&T 2009"
Annual conference "Information Technologies and Telecommunications in the Baltic Sea and CEE Region" is one of the most important ICT forums in the Baltic States. Major topics of the conference this year will be secure future internet solutions, ICT for competitiveness and employability and broadband as catalyst for innovative services.
ICT Best Practices and Knowledge Transfer for Export Encourage
Seminar on April 2 is organized to deal with best practices of innovative ICT services, solutions and product export and external marketing. It will help to evaluate export potential of concrete solutions and share experience with other countries. Experts from EU countries as well as from Latvia and Baltic states are invited.
ICT for Competitiveness and Employability sessions of the seminar particularly will focus on ICT solutions for effective business and public sector governance and Role of e-skills and ICT competences – issues of significant relevance for export promotion.
Secure Future Internet Solutions
This year’s IT Security session on April 2 is organized for IT security professionals, CIO’s and will focus on IT security global innovations and trends, will describe actual situation in the Baltic regarding Personal Data Protection, report will be done by CERT Latvia, will touch encryption and data leakage protection, Safer Internet-plus programme in Europe and Latvia, review DNSSEC possibilities, e-Guardian Certification Program and more.
Broadband as Catalyst of Innovative Services
Broadband allow people to participate more actively in economic processes, as well as social and democratic life. These services benefit all citizens and contribute to an improved quality of life. Session on April 3 will focus on broadband development issues in Latvia and neighbouring countries.
Exposition: ICT export potential of Latvia
Exhibition on April 1-2 is an excellent opportunity for Latvian ICT companies to present their best export oriented solutions and products in public and finance sector, education and e-learning, e-health, services and manufacturing, etc.
CIO session: Seminar for IT directors and managers
CIO session on April 1 is one of the most significant professional gatherings in the Baltic aimed specifically at CIOs, IT managers and other senior IT professionals involved with ICT at the strategic level. This is also an excellent opportunity to meet representatives of leading ICT vendors who will advise in making the smartest IT investments. Major topics - information systems security and security testing, ICT for cost saving and effectiveness, collaboration tools and solutions, future trends of IS platforms and infrastructures, the role of ICT skills, role of CIO in realization of business functions.
NET-share Workshop
Workshop is organized on April 1 in the framework of “Net-Share“ project partnership. The goal of the workshop is to discuss and share experience of developing and using innovative e-services in Europe.
